The right slipcover maintains uniformity in all the furniture. The right slipcovers can be stitched at home or they can be brought from outside that are available readymade. Heavier furniture requires different slipcovers. The slipcover should be able to cover the entire furniture. The slipcovers chosen should look best on the overstuffed furniture. The chosen slipcover should decorate the furniture as well as room. They should not fix structural problems. They should be stain and dust resistant.
But in the 1960s a new type of slipcover the "ready-made" started to dominate the market. A ready-made slipcover is one that is machine manufactured instead of exclusively hand-made. And since 1997 Sure Fit has been one of the industry leaders. Sure Fit has many different sizes, styles and offers several semi-custom fitted slipcover designs.
It is very unlikely that a company will refund the cost purely because of customer measuring error, and it is also unlikely that an improperly measured cover will fit onto the sofa. The company should provide measuring guidelines, which should be followed rigorously. If there are any questionsArticle Search, designers should not hesitate to contact the company in question. They should be happy to provide clarification and guidance for getting the best fit out of the covers.
Take out your sketchbook and try a few design ideas, like those in my drawings above. Or start with the classic seat-top, band, and skirt style as I’ve done for the chair at top left. Sketch different proportions of band width to skirt height, think about pleats or gathers to turn the corners at the legs, and dream up details using piping or other trim. You can even take photos of your chair, then trace your ideas over them. Suit the slipcover to the chair’s style, using the patternmaking process described in the photo-essay. The patternmaking process is the same, regardless of the style you choose.
